Award-winning UK and International theatre director specialising in Shakespeare, new writing and theatre for young adult audiences

Ian has worked with buildings and organisations including Ambassador Theatre Group, The RSC, The National Theatre, Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, Teatru Manoel (Malta) and Blue in the Face (Italy). 

He was also Artistic Director and Founder of Black Box, Merseyside's leading theatre-in-education provider (1993-2017)

As a Master Certified Coach (MCC) my mission is to provide a full range of public and bespoke coaching courses which assist my clients in improving

in every area across the corporate landscape.

 

As a Theatre Director with more than forty years experience, I have directed across the UK and Europe; everything from shows in London's West End to large-scale community festivals to small-scale touring shows.

 

My ongoing journey has been varied and my life's work, using theatre and drama techniques in corporate and  entertainment industries, is to assist people to reach their full potential, becoming better versions of themselves, whilst striving to make a difference.

Award winner:  Manchester's Contact Theatre New Writing for the Stage Award; Nowhere Man (1994).  Buxton Fringe (2006) Best Play for Young Audiences with Five Go Mad in Buxton.  Liverpool's Write Now Festival Best New Play 2012 with Catfish Therapy.
